ARMRIT Certification
What it is, how to get it, and why employers accept it in all 50 states.
An MRI Technologist is a healthcare professional who operates MRI scanners to create diagnostic images. Beyond the technical side, you spend your day interacting with patients—explaining procedures, easing anxieties, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the scan. MRI safety is a critical part of the role, from screening patients for metal implants to managing the powerful magnetic environment.
Most students finish in 12-15 months. ARMRIT requires a minimum of 12 months, so there is no way to fast-track it shorter than that. You have up to 18 months to complete the program—our deadlines keep you on track while the async format lets you study on your own schedule around work and life.
The education portion (Phase I and Phase II) is 100% online. However, you will need to complete clinical training hours at an in-person site near you. We help place students at clinical sites within 50 miles of their location.
After completing the program and passing the registry exam, you become ARMRIT certified—a credential recognized in all 50 states. This makes you a Registered MRI Technologist, qualified to work at hospitals, imaging centers, and outpatient facilities nationwide.
Healthcare experience is preferred but not required. Our students come from all backgrounds—tech assistants, patient transporters, single parents returning to work, veterans transitioning careers, and complete career changers.
You can absolutely start while working full-time. Phase 1 requires about 5 hours per week online, and Phase 2 around 10 hours per week—most students handle this on nights and weekends. Phase 3 (clinical training) is the bigger commitment at 20+ hours per week, more like a part-time job. Some students adjust their work schedules, while others land MRI tech aide positions at their clinical sites—something we encourage when possible.
No. Unlike many traditional programs, Tesla MR provides a direct path to MRI certification without requiring prior radiologic technologist (X-ray) credentials. This saves you time and money.
Students consistently rate their exam preparedness at 8-9 out of 10. Registry prep is one of the most valued parts of the program, with dedicated review sessions, mock exams, and one-on-one support.
We offer several payment plans starting at $11,000 (with the upfront payment discount). We also offer quarterly and monthly payment options to make tuition more accessible—far less than the $60k+ you might pay at a traditional college.
The demand for MRI Technologists continues to grow with over 5,000 open jobs and an 8% annual growth rate projected through 2032. Our graduates report an average salary increase of $28,000 after completing the program.
