Are online MRI programs actually online?
The didactic part can be. Tesla MR Phases 1 and 2 are 100% online (about 5 then 10 hours a week). Phase 3 is 20+ hours a week at a real MRI facility, and the OJT floor once clinicals start is at least 16 hours a week. Tesla lists 334+ partner sites across 38 states and helps match you; placement depends on capacity near you.
MRI technologists earned a national median of $95,480 according to BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025, SOC 29-2035. Tesla is non-Title-IV, so FAFSA does not apply, and Tesla is not currently GI Bill approved. If you need federal aid or an associate degree, a community college radiography path is the better fit.
