No. As an RTA, you handle all hands-on work at the facility—patient positioning, safety screening, coil setup—while a certified technologist operates the scanner remotely. It's a faster path into MRI without ARRT certification.

Graduates work at hospitals, imaging centers, and clinics that use remote MRI scanning. This is a growing field as healthcare addresses technologist shortages through remote scanning solutions.

The first 3 weeks of didactic coursework are part-time (10-20 hrs/week) and flexible. Clinical training in weeks 4-7 is full-time (40 hrs/week) and requires dedicated availability.

Yes. RTA experience provides excellent hands-on foundation. To become a certified MRI Tech, you'd need to complete additional education and ARRT certification—but your RTA experience gives you a significant head start.
