About the Scholarship
Tesla MR Institute created this scholarship to support the next generation of MRI technologists. The United States faces a persistent shortage of qualified MRI professionals, with thousands of positions unfilled across hospitals, imaging centers, and outpatient facilities nationwide.
With over 1,000 clinical training sites across all 50 states, Tesla MR sees this shortage firsthand. This scholarship is one way we invest in the pipeline of future imaging professionals — regardless of which program they attend.
The $1,000 award can be applied toward tuition, books, certification exam fees, or other educational expenses at any accredited MRI, radiologic technology, or medical imaging program in the United States.
Eligibility
- Currently enrolled in or accepted to an MRI, radiologic technology, or medical imaging program at an accredited institution in the United States
- Pursuing a career in MRI technology or a related medical imaging field
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (or equivalent)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Students at any accredited program are eligible — you do not need to be a Tesla MR student

Include your basic information
Full name, email, phone number, current school/program, expected graduation date, and cumulative GPA.

Selection Criteria
Applications are reviewed by the Tesla MR Institute team. We evaluate:
Passion for the field
Does the essay show genuine interest in MRI and patient care?
Clarity of purpose
Does the applicant have a clear vision for their career?
Community impact
How does the applicant plan to use their skills to help others?
Financial need
Preference given to students with demonstrated need (not required).
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a Tesla MR student to apply?
No. This scholarship is open to students at any accredited MRI, radiologic technology, or medical imaging program in the U.S.
Can I use the award for certification exam fees?
Yes. The $1,000 can be applied to tuition, textbooks, certification exams (ARRT, ARMRIT), clinical supplies, or other education-related expenses.
How is the award paid?
The award is paid directly to the recipient's educational institution. If used for certification fees, a receipt-based reimbursement is available.
Can I apply if I've already graduated?
No. Applicants must be currently enrolled in or accepted to an accredited program at the time of application.
Is this scholarship renewable?
This is an annual award. Previous winners may reapply, but preference is given to first-time applicants.
